SYBIL KATHIGASU

Chapter 1

All of sudden, everything started to collapse. Sybil was forced to leave their usual lifestyle due to the Japanese occupation.

 

Chapter 2

Sybil and the people from Ipoh try to restart a brand new life. They moved to No.74, Papan. Even so, things continues to breakdown but under control.

 

Chapter 3

They are still undergoing the continuous breakdown phase. Sybil especially, are mentally and physically uncontrollable due to the war and obstacles but stays strong for her people.

 

Chapter 4

Kept a radio illegally underground, Sybil hope to get some freedom from all the information heard through the radio.

 

Chapter 5

It is mostly about friends who are like family. They shared the latest news among church members. Sybil’s husband Dr.Kathigasu moved back to Ipoh to get money.

 

Chapter 6

The Guerillas (anti-Japanese) came. Sybil provided them with medical supplies and informations because they fight against the Japanese.

 

Chapter 7

The number of guerillas who came to Papan for Sybil’s rescue increased. Danger increased as well as the Japanese later found out about Sybil’s activity.

 

Chapter 8

The radio broke and was replaced by a new ones : Josephine III. 

 

Chapter 9

Don Juan and his assistant escaped under the guidance of Sybil. 

 

Chapter 10

Japanese suspected Sybil, and after gathering what they heard they came to Papan and bring Sybil away. Dawn sent a message out and it was delivered successfully. Striplee lost the letter, resulted leakage of information.

 

Chapter 11

Dr.Kathigasu was kept as hostage. Japanese left a message to surrounded people, urging the people to go to the lock-up.

 

Chapter 12

This takes place in the Toko Office, adjoining the Control Police Station. Sybil was left in a very bad condition. Samy helped Sybil to send a message out for the people. The head of Toko, Kunichika, interviewed Sybil and beat her up. Her husband finally admitted treating the guerillas, followed by Sybil who did it by forced. The Japanese then brought out the letter as evidence.

 

Chapter 13

Even after all the tortures, there are still people who tries to help Sybil. They received a letter from Olga about the bullet.

 

Chapter 14

Yoshimura tortured Sybil again, and asked her about the radio. Sybil was called liar.

 

Chapter 15

Kempetai headquater was informed about the radio. They brought Yoshimura to Papan to look for the radio. They also threatened to burn Dawn.

 

Chapter 16

Sybil was kicked in her face which resulted her having jaws disfigured. They hang her daughter on the tree with ants crawling all over her body, and a fire barrel burning from underneath.

 

Chapter 17

Yoshimura asked Sybil to show her loyalty to Japanese but she refused.

 

Chapter 18

Sybil was thrown into a prison in Batu Gajah.

 

Chapter 19

After a few court session, she escaped death sentence. She was sent to the men’s session before being released. She later flew back to England for treatment.

 

Chapter 20

All the tortures end when she succumbed to her internal injuries at the age of 49. She received the Highest award from the King before her death.
